Nomination: A nomination letter issued by a province for an individual selected by the province.

NOI – Notification of Interest: An invitation letter from the province of Alberta.
ECA – Educational Credential Assessment: Assessment of educational qualifications.
PNP – Provincial Nominee Program: Provincial Nomination Program.
CLB – Canada Language Benchmark: Canada's language proficiency benchmark.
LMIA – Labour Market Impact Assessment: An assessment of the labor market impact, which theoretically serves as a document that allows Canadian employers to legally hire a foreign worker.
NOC – National Occupational Classification: A national job classification system used by the Canadian government to evaluate and categorize occupations, which is also applied in Canada's immigration programs for workers.
