ALBERTA OPPORTUNITY STREAM (AOS) POINTS DROPPED SHARPLY TO ONLY 55 POINTS!
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has just brought extremely positive news for the workforce and immigration candidates in the province.
In the draw on November 10, 2025, the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) saw its minimum score (cut-off score) drop to just 55 points. This is the lowest recent score on record.
With this impressive point reduction, Alberta issued a huge number of Notices of Interest (NOI), totaling 1,045 invitations in a single round.
Although the Alberta provincial nomination program (PNP quota) for 2025 under the AAIP streams is nearly at its maximum, the fact that the Province of Alberta continues to conduct draws with a large number of invitations (1,045 candidates) indicates a proactive and clear strategy.
This demonstrates that Alberta is actively building a 'bank' of pre-screened quality profiles. The goal is to be ready to quickly review and nominate these candidates at the beginning of 2026. This action aims to anticipate the expected growth in the 2026 PNP quota, helping the province maintain a stable pace of immigration and promptly meet labor force needs.
To provide additional context, a score of 55 for the AOS is a particularly optimistic signal, especially when compared to the previous AOS draw on October 23, 2025, which had a score of 60 (with 900 invitations).
In addition, Alberta also continuously targets priority occupations through the Express Entry stream, such as Health Care with 52 points (on November 14) and 42 points (on October 24), or Construction with 60 points (on October 28).
The sharp decline in AOS points is a golden opportunity. Those who hold a valid Work Permit and have a Job Offer in Alberta currently have a significant competitive advantage. Make sure your application meets all AOS criteria to be ready to receive a Notification of Interest.
