🇨🇦 LATEST UPDATES ON NEW BRUNSWICK PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM 

SKILLED WORKFORCE | Effective from February 3, 2026

Earlier this March, New Brunswick updated the latest information on the Provincial Nominee Program for skilled workers. Here are the target candidates who may participate in this program:

  1. Workers with experience in Japan: Have worked full-time for an employer who provides support for at least 6 months and are currently living in the province
  2. Graduated in NB: Have completed a study program at designated institutions (DLI) in NB and have a valid Job Offer, or you are working full-time in a non-seasonal position for an eligible employer in New Brunswick who is willing to support your work application or have received a job offer for that position.
  3. Priority Occupations: Intended for highly skilled candidates in industries facing severe labor shortages, usually through international recruitment rounds by the Japanese government, and with at least 1 year of paid work experience related to this position.

The government also has a new announcement regarding TEMPORARILY STOPPED accept applications for certain industry sectors to balance the labor market.

  • Accommodation & Food Services Group (NAICS 72): Restaurant management, Food and beverage supervision, Chef (Chefs/Cooks), Service staff, Hotel receptionist…
  • Retail & Specialty Products Group: Retail Management/Supervision, Cashier, Warehouse Staff, Seafood & Food Processing Worker…

Note: If you are working in the above professions but for a company that IS NOT in the Lodging/Food & Beverage sector, you can still submit your application.
