CANADA INCREASES IMMIGRATION FEES FROM DECEMBER 2025!

Over the past week, Immigration Canada announced an increase in immigration fees for certain types of applications starting from December 1, 2025. If you are planning to settle, work, or apply for a visa in Canada, please take note of these changes to better prepare your finances.
• The IEC (International Experience Canada) fee increased from CAD 179.75 to CAD 184.75.
• The fee for re-entry and restoring immigration status has also increased. For example, the fee for the “Authorization to Return to Canada” has increased from CAD 479.75 to CAD 492.50.
• The temporary residence permit also saw a change, from CAD 239.75 to CAD 246.25.
(For more information on the increase in other fees, Aimmi pinned it in the comments section)
If you have submitted your application online and paid the fee before December 1, 2025, you will not be affected. However, if you submit a paper application, you will have to pay the difference between the old and new fees. IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) decided to increase the fees to adjust for the costs involved in processing applications, in order to maintain effective management and ensure quality immigration services.
If you are applying for or will be applying for immigration, a visa, or a work permit in Canada, don't forget to update and double-check the new fees and prepare your finances accordingly.
