CANADA INCREASES FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ATLANTIC IMMIGRATION PROGRAM (AIP)

The Canadian government has recently announced an important change to the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), raising the minimum financial requirements for immigration applicants. This adjustment is aimed at ensuring that immigrant families have sufficient financial resources to settle comfortably when living in the Atlantic provinces of Canada.
These changes will come into effect starting July 29, 2025, and will affect applicants participating in the program. While the financial requirements have increased, workers with a valid work permit in Canada will be exempt from this requirement. Applicants must demonstrate their financial ability through a bank verification letter; assets such as collateral or borrowed money will not be accepted.
